This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps taken by Quintet Events Limited and its subsidiaries, including (but not limited to) Red Sky Festival Limited, to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our festival.
Everyone who works together at Red Sky to make the Festival the success it is are extremely important to Red Sky Festival Limited (RSFL). We’re committed to improving our practices year-on-year to combat slavery and human trafficking, throughout the Festival and it’s supply chains. It is vital that those working at the Festival do so in a safe environment and are treated fairly and with respect.
Red Sky Festival is a private limited company registered in England and Wales with registered offices at Unit 23 Easter Park, Benyon Road, Silchester, RG7 2PQ. We are part of a group of companies that make up Quintet Events Limited (QEL). Throughout the year we work with a large number of staff, volunteers, contractors and suppliers to stage festivals and events. During the quieter months of the year there are staff working for both QEL and RSFL – thus the number of staff throughout the year changes considerably due to the annual festival cycle.
Both QEL and RSFL are committed to ensuring all paid workers at the Festival have the right to work in the UK.
As the Festival nears each year, our staff and volunteer count grows. Many of these workers are engaged directly by the Festival. As such, we are responsible for ensuring that these workers are treated fairly and well and have their health and safety protected. Additionally, all contractors and labour providers within our supply chain, who contribute workers to the Festival, are issued with this Anti-Slavery Statement. We at QEL and RSFL are committed to working with them to uphold our values and ensure compliance to this Statement.
To ensure this compliance, we perform annul reviews of our major labour providers, to ensure they are upholding our values and fulfilling their obligations with regards to legal employment practices.
The Festival has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking, and we are committed to ensuring that this does not take place anywhere within our labour supply chain or in any part of our organisation. We are committed to working ethically and with integrity in our business dealings and implement and enhance the policies that we have in place.
To ensure that all our staff understand the issues and risks associated with modern slavery and human trafficking, staff are provided with training on these matters where appropriate for their role. This Anti-Slavery Statement is also included in our staff handbook which is issued to all staff and volunteers.
Our due diligence process
We have systems in place to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking – these include:
- Check all paid employees and paid casual workers have the right to work in the UK;
- Engage workers directly, where possible, to maintain direct control of employment practices;
- Issue this statement to all key labour providers;
- Make all key labour providers aware of our ethics, values, commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking and our expectation for them to comply with this Anti-Slavery Statement;
- Protect whistle-blowers within the organisation.
The Festival has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We expect and require all our suppliers, contractors, those in our supply chain and those engaged directly by QEL and RSFL to comply with our ethics, values and this Anti-Slavery Statement.
